Weatherman Sam Mack is known for his quirky sunrise segments.
But the humorous man, 41, suffered a spectacular bust on Wednesday when he attempted to interview sleepy morning commuters on Melbourne’s trams.
“I think the friendliness just oozes out of every passenger as you walk by,” Sam joked as he tried to find someone willing to talk on digital camera.
After many riders briefly exited the tram as Sam approached, Sunrise host Natalie Barr was quick to make a joke about their co-worker.
“This man is like ‘get him off me!’” said Nat, while co-host Matt Shirvington joked that Sam was a “pest”.

“Did you see them run out of the tram?” he added. “Like 25 people saw him and ran.”
“Sorry Melbourne you were disturbed by Sam Mac this morning!” mentioned by Nat.
Elsewhere in the section, Sam’s jovial fashion didn’t seem to sit well with the passengers he squeezed into the digicam entrance.
“Do you want to invite the workshop this morning?” Sam requested the person.
“We apologize to Melbourne,” Barr instructed viewers throughout Sam’s segment
The television funnyman rose to fame on Sunrise for hosting internet segments
But the confused-looking rider chimed in, “Sorry, no!”, leaving sober Sam speechless anyway.
In December, Sam signed a brand new deal that could keep him on the road for another two years, along with the gift of a sunrise breakfast.
The father-of-one announced the contract extension in an Instagram post that initially suggested he was resigning.
Sam, who recently became a father for the first time, began by describing his role on the top-rated program as “the best job in the world”.
